Best R&B artist! Who is it?

Hey guys, its Elizabeth back again talking about R&B and Hip Hop. Unlike my other posts, today’s blog post will not be about a new upcoming artist. Todays post will be about the most amazingly talented singer that I have grown up listening to.  She is the known as the Queen of R&B, yes ladies and gentlemen its MARIAH CAREY.

Now Mariah Carey has said her influences have come from singers such as Billie Holiday and Sarah Vaughan and influenced hip-hop and r&b singers such as Beyoncé, Rihanna and Mary J Blige. For anyone that grew up in the 80’s or 90’s I assure you one or more of Carey’s songs has had an impact on your life and reminds you of a stage in your life, whether good or bad.

Born in 1970 Mariah is still one of my favourite singers of all time. Although some of her new music has moved to more pop music I still love her old meaningful music that forever changed my view on life and music. She is an ageless superstar who’s song such as One Sweet Day, Emotions and Always Be My Baby I believe has set the standard and shown what real music and singing is meant to be. The countless number ones have shown the real talent she has. There are so many number ones that she has created a whole album of them. Here are the number one songs by Mariah Carey!

  • 1990 - "Vision Of Love"
  • 1990 - "Love Takes Time"
  • 1991 - "Someday"
  • 1991 - "I Don't Wanna Cry"
  • 1991 - "Emotions"
  • 1992 - "I'll Be There"
  • 1993 - "Hero"
  • 1993 - "Dream Lover"
  • 1995 - "Fantasy"
  • 1995 - "One Sweet Day" (w/ Boyz II Men)
  • 1996 - "Always Be My Baby"
  • 1997 - "Honey"
  • 1998 - "My All"
  • 1999 - "Heartbreaker"
  • 1999 - "Thank God I Found You"
  • 2005 - "We Belong Together"

Last Year i had the privilege of going to Mariah's Carey concert in Sydney. To be honest i didn't think Mariah would be as good as she sounded in her songs, for the reason that these songs were made almost 20 years ago. To my amazement Mariah hit every note perfectly and sounded even better live. To me this shows that she has true talent, some concerts people go to the singers dont sound anything like they are on the radio and sound really awful. This was not the case for Mariah even in the song Emotions which shows amazing vocal range that i didn't think anyone could hit. If you havent heard it, here it is!

I have to say that my favourite song by her is definitely One Sweet day, it spent 16 weeks atop Billboard top 100 making the longest running number one song in US chart History.  This song came out the year I was born but I will forever remember it. The song reminds anyone who have had struggles, deaths and sadness in their lives that ‘One Sweet Day’ it will all be better and it gives hope for happiness. It is a song containing both powerful meaning and powerful vocals, which really brings the point out.

For anyone who remembers this song I want you to really listen to this song and let it bring the memories back. For anyone who hasn’t listened to this, what hole have you been hiding in? Just Kidding, Just listen to this wonderful song and you’ll see why it is loved so much.

Ludwig van Beethoven.

Hello my friend, welcome back to the Classical Music World. I am Chris.

Today, I am going to talk about the Ludwig van Beethoven.

Can you imagine what it would be like to listen to music, but not hear it at all?

Beethoven had become completely deaf. He could sometimes be seen roaming around his town, making awkward faces and hand movements. People considered him to be slightly insane, but they know it was his genius at work. He would walk around coming up with music in his head until he saw fit. Many musical historians today consider Beethoven’s late period to be when he had written his best pieces of music.

Beethoven is an amazing inspiration to me, showing to never give up, even if the challenges showed to be impossible. Listening to his music today, I’m still amazed he wrote most of them, without ever really hearing what they sounded like. The sad part was that he had never heard anything he wrote in person. Was that really a bad thing though? It was in his late period, when he was completely deaf, that he wrote his greatest pieces and pretty soon, ended up being the bridge to Romantic music, my favorite era of music. Maybe, in the end, being deaf could very well have been the greatest thing that’s ever happened to him.

Pogo & P.SUS

Hi folks, Rollie here and no, I will not be ranting today. Instead I invite you to listen to two artists who I think are ridiculously talented. As I mentioned before, I will not focus on your usual type of music. It's kind of hard to put these artists into a specific genre but I like to think of their type of music as alternative to alternative electronic music. They rely on using samples from all forms of media, from TV, Film & Animation, old vinyls, the world and I guess just everyday sort of recordings, and mash them up into their own original songs. Now, I don't mean like Kanye West, who blatantly takes samples from old RnB tracks and reuses them to make his own tracks, ala Gold Digger and Stronger and others. I mean taking samples and recutting and resequencing them to make unique sounds as if they were completely different yet so alike.

Firstly, I give you 24 year old, Australian electronic artist, Pogo, also known as Nick Bertke. Nick Bertke has created a remarkable presence online from recutting old children's classic films and animation from Disney to Pixar and more. These range from Alice in Wonderland, Snow White & The Seven Dwarves, Up and Monsters, Inc. to Willy Wonka, Mary Poppins, The King and I, Hook and Harry Potter. Listening to his music has made me appreciate my childhood even more. More recently though he has been remixing the world. His latest tune is the very catchy, Kenya Chords (my favourite!)

Hook Remix

Check out his website PogoMix to gain access to his blog, videos and download his tunes. You can follow him on TwitterYouTube, and Soundcloud.

Secondly, I give you P.SUS, a producer from Pittsburgh, USA. With dreamy tracks, P.SUS offers you a sense of peace. It's great to play when you're just not in the mood for anything else but to relax and I often play his tracks when I am cooling down from a great workout. Here's a track from one of his albums, Daydream.

You can follow P.SUS on FacebookTwitter and Soundcloud. You can download his albums as well through Bandcamp.

Indie... The Jungle Giants

Hey... It's Gemma again! I am back to introduce another amazing indie band and this time it's an sizzle band.

What is the Classical Music

Hello my friend, welcome back to the Classical Music World. I am Chris.

Today, I am going to continue talk about Classical Music.

The word “Classical Music” means the age-old artwork of European. The period of European art music from 1750-1825 is called the classical music.

Today now, we can make music with the help of different types of machines easily. We don’t have to write down music on the paper. But a classical music writer or composer wrote down every note, pitches even though everything. Different writer for their personality wrote down their music in different way. Classical music is full of regulation. It’s a balance of perfection. All the classical music has its own emotion. it can be funny also it can be serious also mysterious. And those emotions are the emotion of the writer. So we can say that classical music is expressing someone’s own depict feeling.

In the classical period, Mozart, Beethoven and Hayden are considered to be the giant in the classical music

Classical music is still in the present world because of its highly versatile and adoptable. Classical music we have today updated many many times since it was written. It is truly amazing that people all over the world find beauty in classical music.

R&B - Luke James

Hey everyone, its Elizabeth back again to talk about the latest trending R&B star. Luke James
is the new R&B singer/songwriter and dancer that should be checked out. He started off his career writing songs for Chris Brown, Britney Spears and Justin Bieber. Although he wrote songs for well known pop singers, his music is far of from pop.

James has a soft, smooth voice that gives a special and unique tone to his songs, that make you melt. His different tone within his first mix-tape led his first song I Want You to be nominated for the Best R&B performance for the Grammies.

Influenced by Jazz and R&B his songs bring a totally different vibe, never been heard before. So if you enjoy listening to artists such as Marvin Gaye or Willie Nelson, you will surely LOVE listening to Luke James. So if your in a stressed or angry mood just listen to Luke James voice and i guarantee it will calm you down.

Although R&B may not be the same as it was when Elvis first came out, i believe it still has that same old skool vibe that people cant get enough of. Although I enjoy the catchy pop song now and then I believe R&B always have those meaningful lyrics that I always end up coming back to. Luke James songs are some of them.

Perfume - Jpop TechnoPop Group ~Like a fairy tale~ (Part 2)

Hi everyone, it is Ruby again. Today I just wanna continue my blog post. As I mentioned in the previous blog, Perfume took 7 years to jump to an unknown group to the "Top idol group" in Japan. It was so hard for the girls, sometimes they wanted to give up, there was time they had to choose to continue their dream or stop it to enter University.

To have a better explain about how hard did the girls try and the problems/difficulty they had to face in the past, please watch the three videos below:

PART 1

PART 2

PART 3

Ans then, there was a chance for them to shine, the chance of releasing "Polyrhythm".

After reaching the audience's attention, the girls keep their style and focus on improvement of Dance step. They are famous for the unique Dance and catchy and cute Electronic Voice Tone. When people hear their songs, as the songs are really repetitive, it's too hard to forget. Furthermore, the fans also enjoy the Dance's performance plus the interesting ideas they have for each songs of them.

How does a concert of Perfume look like?

As they always lip-sync (The reason is because of the difficulty of singing when the background music is electronic music and the voice will be changed completely), they focus more about entertaining audience and dancing.

This is really strange that they don't have back dancers in their concert when most of Japanese idols do. People often say that because it's really hard to follow their steps. However, having no back dancers also mean the girls have to concentrate more and it's unforgivable if member makes mistake as there is no one to fill in the space or hide her mistake. Every single mistake can be easily found by the audience.

Despite of that problems, the girls hardly make mistake on stage, which makes fans admire them more.

No matter how big or small the stadium, arena or concert dome are, there are only 3 small girls.

Congratulation for new single!!!!!

The girls have just announced about the new single which will be released on May, 22th, 2013. It's called "Magic of Love" and it can be bought on iTunes so I will definitely buy one copy <3

It's a catchy song, a soooooo Perfume song :)))

They have mentioned on one News show that the song has a really hard dance step, which takes them 24 hours to complete the music video. They have to dance under the effect of strong wind (meaning it's hard to move)

This is the image of "Magic of Love"'s CD cover
